What is V Grooving Machine

V Grooving Machine is an auxiliary process of bending forming of metal or non-metallic materials. V-groove is cut out with special equipment cutters at the bending line where metal or non-metallic materials need to be bent, so that the material is easy to bend and form outside the bending angle R can be minimized, and then bent with a bending machine or hand to form, processed by this method and meet the product appearance requirements. The depth, width, and angle of the V-groove can be ensured by the amount of feed and the shape of the planer during the planing process.

Grooving

1. Plane V-groove processing generally requires customers to have special requirements for the bending of sheet metal parts. The normal bending cannot reach the minimum value required. At this time, it is bent after grooving.
2. The structural design of the sheet metal parts is special. When the normal bending cannot be achieved, the groove needs to be planed. For example, the U-shaped structural part has a cavity size of only a few millimeters. At this time, the double V groove is used for forming.
3. Plane V-groove depth, width, angle
The depth of the V-groove for different thickness materials is different. The specific processing data depends on the customer’s product requirements.
Note: According to experience, the angle of the V-groove is better than the actual forming angle by 2 degrees. The material will rebound during bending and forming. A 2 degree gap is reserved to facilitate the control of the angle during processing.
In order to prevent the knife from being clamped during bending and forming, the bending upper die is preferably at 84 degrees.
